Man Dies by Suicide, Unintentionally Shoots Wife

Man Dies by Suicide, Unintentionally Shoots Wife

by Kevin Caruso

September 24, 2004

A businessman in El Cajon, California, who was suffering from depression, raised a gun to his head on September 22, 2004.

His wife, who was standing just a few feet away, screamed for him to stop and ran towards him to try to prevent him from shooting himself.

As she ran towards him, he shot himself in the head; the bullet then passed through his head and hit her in the shoulder.

The man died at the scene, and the woman is in the hospital in stable condition.

The names of the individuals have not been released.

Untreated depression is the number one cause for suicide.

If you think that you may be suffering from depression, please make appointments with a doctor and a therapist so you may be evaluated and treated.

And if you are suicidal, you MUST reach out for help.

Suicide is never an option.

Suicide does not solve problems, it creates problems.
