107-year-old Woman Dies by Suicide

Leung Hau, a 107-year-old woman living in Hong Kong, died by suicide today.

Her 87-year-old son found her in their apartment shortly after she had hanged herself.

A few days before the suicide, she told her son and his wife that she wanted to die because she “did not want to be a burden” to others, but they did not take her comment seriously.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Comments about suicide ALWAYS need to be taken seriously.

Even subtle comments.

If anyone you know makes ANY comment that leads you to believe that they are suicidal, please ensure that they receive IMMEDIATE help.
